About Darby Bettenhausen

Darby received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University in Pocatello ID. Before starting PA school, she obtained her bachelorette in kinesiology at the University of Montana in Missoula MT, she also received a Pre-Medical Post Bachelorette Certificate at Montana State University in Bozeman MT. Darby worked as a CNA in an Emergency Room and Swing-Bed Hospital in rural Eastern MT and spent one year as a pharmacy technician while in school at Bozeman. Darby also spent 5 weeks volunteering at the district hospital in Iganga Uganda where she learned to care for patients with minimal equipment and a lack of resources. Growing up in rural Eastern MT she saw firsthand the difficulties put on the community when there is a provider shortage, but she also experienced what having one or a few caring and competent providers can accomplish. Darby feels a deep sense of duty to give back to the communities that helped raise her and this accompanied with her desire to continue learning and work with a team made the Physician Assistant profession the best fit for her.
