Dr. Jessica Cozzens was born in Cody, Wyoming and moved to Billings at age 5. After graduating from Billings Senior High School, she attended the University of Puget Sound where she received a bachelor's degree in psychology. She moved back to Billings to work with AmeriCorps before heading east to get a Masters in Public Health with an emphasis on maternal and child health at the George Washington University. She then moved back across the country to attend medical school at Oregon Health and Sciences University, and stayed there for residency in family medicine. After finishing residency, she and her husband (also a Billings native) decided to move back home to raise their family.
While she loves just about every aspect of the specialty, she has particular interest in caring for teens, in family planning work, and in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease through healthy lifestyle. She firmly believes in embracing the “family” in family medicine, and knows that to provide the best care for an individual you have to also know what is happening in their life and their family members’ lives. The relationships and connections that this allows her to make with her patients is what keeps her excited about coming to work every day.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys hiking, biking and watching movies with her husband and three kids. Despite only mediocre vocal abilities, she is a karaoke enthusiast and often sings around the house, much to the embarrassment of her tweens. She likes to read books and listen to podcasts that make her laugh.
