Dr. Herrera grew up in Portland, Oregon. She completed her Microbiology and Molecular Biology degree at Portland State University in 2008. Dr. Herrera attended medical school at Oregon Health & Sciences University and graduated in 2012. Following medical school, she spent six years in San Diego at the University of California San Diego/Rady Children s Hospital, where she completed her pediatric residency and fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in 2018. Dr. Herrera is proudly married to her high school sweetheart, Juan Herrera PA-C. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy traveling, cooking, woodworking and hiking with their cocker spaniels, Daisy Mae and Bruno Max.
