Nanci VanPeursem, MD, FAAFP grew up in Colton, South Dakota, and has dedicated her career to providing compassionate, personalized care to patients and families across the region. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Augustana University before completing medical school at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. She then completed her residency training at the Center for Family Medicine.
With more than 25 years of experience in family medicine, Dr. VanPeursem has cared for patients through every stage of life — from newborns and children to adults and seniors. She practiced in Sisseton, South Dakota for eight years before serving the Milbank, SD community for 19 years with Avera Health. She especially enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and has special interests in women’s health and pediatrics. Patients appreciate her warm, approachable style and her commitment to listening carefully and treating each person like family.
Outside of medicine, Dr. VanPeursem enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing piano, enjoying music, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
